Manuscript Cambridge and the University PressA wonderful first edition of the first more nuanced articulation from Wesley of "What it means to be a Methodist." He employs the metaphor of a house; the house being Methodism itself. For Wesley, the porch is repentance; the door is faith; and the interior of the home is the life of holiness. Here we see for Wesley already the door eclipsed; it is what one does on the other side of the door, the experience of pure love and holiness, we might say
