It is strikingly plumaged, like most toucans, and is an opportunistic feeder, mainly relying on fruit and seeds, but also taking small animals such as lizards and snakes, small birds, and rodents, and also feeding on eggs (exhibiting similar dietary habits as other toucans, and corvids, such as jays). Interestingly, both parents and several other adults
